Why this role is important for CPI’s work
We are seeking to recruit a talented individual for our Asset Engineering team that prides themselves on delivering exceptional service within a fast paced environment. The Apprentice Maintenance Technician is a multi-skilled role which is expected to support all CPI Technology Assets. The apprentice will be expected to have flexibility and apply their general engineering skills across all of CPI’s engineering disciplines and technologies. Duties include:

  • Assisting with routine maintenance tasks in line with agreed schedule, recording all results in the appropriate system and reporting back on any anomalies.
  • Helping to ensure that spare parts required for the maintenance activities are controlled and ordered in a timescale appropriate to maintaining the toolset uptime. To comply with the internal and external regulatory environment such as procurement, maintaining records, traceability and confidentiality.
  • Helping ensure all relevant personnel are kept informed of progress or proposed changes on their own maintenance operations so as to minimise the impact on the processes being operated on that particular tool.
  • Identifying and understanding the requirements of internal and external customers and using creative thinking and problem solving to challenge assumptions, innovate, make new proposals and build on existing ideas.
  • Contributing to a wide variety of engineering maintenance activities.

We are offering the opportunity to study as a maintenance technician in Engineering whilst gaining valuable on the job experience and earning a salary. Our apprenticeship programme provides the opportunity to develop both technical and behavioural skills through formal study and a variety of on-the-job training by an experienced engineering team. It has been designed to equip you with the skills you need to tackle a variety of engineering challenges.
Eligibility
To be eligible for our apprenticeship programme you must hold A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent), including English Language and Mathematics to grade 9 – 5/A\*- C (or be willing to work towards).

The person we are seeking
We are looking for a self-motivated, reliable apprentice who can organise workload to meet both departmental objectives and learning outcomes. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to manage time effectively. It is important that the successful candidates can take responsibility for personal development, demonstrating commitment to learning and self-improvement. The candidate will also have experience of IT packages, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
