We have some very exciting opportunities for people to join us as operatives here at the Midlands Super Hub and be a key part of our Royal Mail's Transformation Journey.
As part of our future strategy, Royal Mail is creating a network of new and exciting automated Parcel Hubs. Our Hub will be world-class; providing state-of-the-art automation solutions, helping us to continue to excel in providing a great service to our customers.
Our customers provide everything from Friday nights new outfit or a celebratory bottle of Champagne to life saving equipment, whatever the package you'll handle it all and know you'll be making a difference.
We are seeking motivated and experienced people looking for a new challenge, to join the Midlands Super Hub team and be part of our future. You will play an integral part in the fast-paced environment of the new Hub, building trusted relationships and supporting colleagues to deliver a great service.
We need dedicated colleagues that are passionate about delivering high standards of customer service, enjoy learning new skills and are keen to support managers to introduce changes through coaching and development.
Gi Group Staffing play an important role, working directly with Royal Mail to ensure parcels are sorted and delivered!
We're looking for dedicated and motivated individuals to join our team and have lots of different shifts available so you can find the right working pattern for you.
You don't need to have worked for us before, but experience in warehouse, sorting work or automation is a plus.
As a Parcel or Cross Dock Sorter, you'll be unloading parcels, moving them through our Super Hub and ensuring that they arrive at their destination safely. The Midlands Super Hub will be Royal Mail's largest site processing over 1 million parcels daily and moving 50% of the nation's mail through our network of Mail Centre's and Parcel Hubs for delivery both via road and rail through our on-site Rail Platform. Our new Midlands Hub is due to become operational in Summer 2023. It's a very important role so flexibility, commitment, enthusiasm, and efficiency are key.
Our Wish List
- You're able to push trolleys (up to 250kgs) and lift parcels (up to 30kg).
- You're able to work in a busy environment with an ability to use scanning devices and computer systems to print trolley labels out. This is a new state of the art automated site and some operating of the automated equipment will be required.
- You can comfortably stand for long periods of time, as well as to walk long distances (the building is 0.5km long), climb up and down stairs and potentially work at heights.
- You have a good level of spoken English, a good level of English understanding & be able to read English including Labels, Wall boards and Safety Signs.
Good to know
- You will need to be 18 years or older to work night shifts.
- You can choose hours and work shifts that fit around your other commitments and, subject to availability, we'll be able to continue to offer work on an ongoing basis.
After completing 12 calendar weeks of service with Gi Group Staffing, pay rates will increase to match Royal Mail permanent employees, in line with Agency Workers Regulations (AWR) as follows
