Job description
We require a practical and versatile Machine Operator to join our Steel Fabrication Prep shop team. Experienced in using Bandsaws, Guillotines, Presses, Croppers, etc. you will perform tasks such as drilling and milling steel in accordance with drawing specifications to correct quality standards and to required timescales.
Operating the above machines, you will be machining steel beams, columns, and other components for manufacturing within the workshop. Using your knowledge of technical drawings, to check quality and measurements to ensure it meets the necessary requirements.
You will need:
The ability to understand, read and interpret technical drawings
Attention to detail
Knowledge of safe machine practice standard
Knowledge of heavy gauge steel production procedures
Good communication skills
The ability to work independently.
The hours of work will be:
Monday to Thursday 7.15 – 4.15
Friday 7.15 – 12.15
Enhanced Overtime rates
33 days holiday (incl Bank Holiday)
