Job description
A Santa Clara based machine shop that is looking for a Self-Starting Quality Inspector with CMM programming experience.
Main Responsibilities Include:
1. Maintain company quality records and inspection reports. Includes generating First Article Inspection Reports.
2. Inspection of components and assemblies, both in-process and final inspection.
3. Patrol the shop floor and provide in-process inspections.
4. Using appropriate inspection tools/equipment to check critical dimensions and features per customer requirements.
5. Inspecting parts and materials for quality defects using proven techniques and visual methods and providing feedback on day to day quality findings.
6. Document all findings and report any non-conformances noted.
7. Remove and segregate non-conforming parts and materials.
Requirements:
1. Strong team player and clear communicator. Self-starter that is able to multi task. Ability to work quickly/efficiently in a fast-paced environment is a must.
2. High-energy, self-motivated with the ability to work to challenging deadlines.
3. Experience in a machine shop environment is a must.
4. Ability to read and interpret dimensions and tolerances on drawings and prints.
5. Demonstrate strong mathematical skills.
6. Use of microscope, hand tool, height gage, calipers,etc.
7. CMM operating experience is required. Ability to operate a CMM and understand/analyze data recorded to complete first article inspection reports.
8. Mechanical experience for inspecting sheet metal and sub-assemblies.
9. Computer skill is a must. Operator-Level proficiency using computer software programs.
10. 7 Years minimum experience as a full time inspector of CNC machined components.
11. Must be familiar with and have experience inspecting to ISO9001 standards. Knowledge/experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems required.
12. Geometric dimensioning and tolerance knowledge per ASME/ANSI standard essential.
