Location: Kirkcaldy
Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday – 39.25 hours per week (7.30am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 1pm Friday)
Job purpose:
QAS Group Limited are a key independent supply chain provider, mainly for the spirit drinks sector. Our main service offerings are, but not limited to bottling, bottle sleeving, bonded re-work, case and carton assembly, contract packing, fulfilment, luxury and gift packing, warehousing, and transport.
Due to continued growth and investment in extending our capabilities and service offering we have the following vacancy.
The Machine Operator will ideally have proven experience in operating machinery and be responsible for ensuring equipment is in optimum operational order to provide good quality product out turn aligned to meeting daily bottling schedules and targets within a fast-moving production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that Health & Safety is central to all operations and machines are operated safely.
- Ensure equipment is fit for purpose and Safe Working Practices are followed.
- Ensure machines are always kept clean and fully maintained.
- Perform efficient machine changeovers between production runs in line with production schedules.
- Maintain machine settings to correct standards and guidelines to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor machine performance to ensure optimal production efficiency, adjusting as required to maximise product quality and output to customer specifications.
- Conduct routine quality checks in line with quality procedures and completing required records.
- Troubleshoot problems during machine operation.
- Maintain activity logs, producing relevant information for analysis.
- Assist in training new employees
- Cover machines on other production lines during breaks as required by the business.
- Be flexible in availability for over time working.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Experience of operating to food-manufacturing standards with a focus on Hygiene (HACCP), Health & Safety and Quality
- Technical knowledge of bottling line machinery would be advantageous
- Working knowledge of diverse bottling and labelling machinery
- Good practical skills with the ability to work quickly and methodically
- Able to perform basic routine machinery maintenance

After successful completion of their probation period, the individual will also qualify for a weekly attendance incentive of £21.00.
