Packaging Operator

DESCRIPTION:
Must be able to work all shifts on a rotating schedule (days, afternoons, and nights). Shifts rotate on a two-week basis.
Hourly rate: $20.74 plus applicable shift premiums ($1.20 for afternoon shift and $1.55 for night shift).
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate and assist in all packaging operations to meet production and shipping schedules
- Work in compliance with company and regulatory policies
- Report unusual incidents and accidents and assist in developing corrective measures
- Work closely with all departments and crew leaders to ensure that internal and external customers are being adequately serviced
- Assist in on-the-job training
- Maintain production documents
- Maintain a clean and safe workstation and area
- Adhere to the food safety required as per job duties and report non-conformities
- Other duties as required
Requirements:
- Mechanical aptitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Trouble shooting ability
- Ability to work rotating shifts in a 24-hour operation, may be required to work weekends
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new job skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet Packaging job requirements, including initiative, safety, housekeeping, attendance and productivity
