Summary
The Line Operator, under the direction of the Line Supervisor, will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the operating line as required, producing a clean, quality product; maintaining machines and cleanliness of plant; ensuring safety, including regulatory, awareness of all equipment and operations.
Applicants must be able to work the morning, afternoon shift and graveyard shifts:
- Day: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- Afternoon: 2:30 PM -11:00 PM (+ $0.50/h shift premium)
- Night: 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM (+ $1.50/h shift premium)
Applicants who are able to work Saturdays and Sundays will receive an additional premium on top of their hourly rate:
- Saturday: + $0.50/h
- Sunday: + $1.00/h
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring, checking and adjusting machinery
- Tie, hang bags, remove bag weights, record weights on production report, and put production in storage
- Assist in cleaning, and checking for damaged parts and sources of product contamination
- Clear jams in packaging, infeed using proper tools and procedures
- Clean stationary magnets to ensure that product does not get contaminated with steel particles
- Perform all functions according to company policy, procedure and proper safety practices
- Maintain excellent communication with fellow crew, supervisors and management
- Keep plant area clean by shoveling and sweeping
- Perform other duties as required
Job Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude
- Some previous labour experience is an asset
- Forklift certification experience or equivalent
- Ability to operate a forklift and reach-truck is considered an asset
- Ability to understand and follow directions accurately
- Knowledge of proper safety procedures in and around equipment and machines
- Good communication skills oral and written
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and apply them accurately
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to work in inclement weather

Pay: $23.61-$25.77 per hour
