Machine Operator
Do you have experience of working with heavy machinery? Are you process driven and passionate about working as a team?
We have an opportunity for an Operator to join us at our Paper Mill in Tawd, Skelmersdale to contribute to the maintenance of the large-scale heavy machinery we have on site.
Essity manufactures tissue at this paper mill for conversion into two of our internationally recognised and market-leading brands, Cushelle toilet tissue and Plenty kitchen roll.
Our tissue products are manufactured according to fixed specifications and standard operating procedures. Working as part of a shift team you will contribute to both the safe performance of the paper machinery and the overall output of the site. What You Will Do
You will be responsible for operating the machinery in your assigned area where you will execute all operational tasks with excellence and adhere to all documented procedures, while being responsible for keeping your area clean & well organised. You will have accountability for quality checks in your responsible area and you will follow a number of internal processes to ensure all product test criteria is met. Within the role you will record any tasks completed in the daily management system and execute any schedule maintenance activities set out by your team leader.
Who You Are
We would love to hear from you if you have:
Previous experience in working in a similar heavy machine industry, ideally within papermaking, but not essential
Excellent trouble shooting skills, with the ability to plan and work to tight timelines while managing several tasks
Strong communication skills
Strong PC skills (excel, word, project)
High level of numeracy
FLT Driving Licence (desirable)
Mobile Elevated Working Platforms (MEWPS) Licence (desirable)
