Job Title: Machine Fitter
Days: Monday - Friday
Shifts: 8am - 5pm (4pm on Friday)
Location: Gamlingay, Sandy
Pay: £25,350 p/a (£12.50 p/h)

Interaction Recruitment have partnered with the global leader in the design and manufacture of conveying and seasoning systems for the food industry to support them with current vacancies.

They have vast experience and the best engineers in the industry, manufacturing all their own equipment across two premises.

We are seeking a Machine Fitter to work as part of a small team assembling, tuning, and testing machines before dispatch to customers. The role will involve manual handling.




Responsibilities:

• Assembly of machines to drawings using compressed air tools

• Wiring up, running and testing machines - testing is carried out with exposed live panels

• Chemical/electro polishing

• Carry out a range of operations on the lathe (suitable training required)

• Carry out various tasks using handheld power tools including: drilling, grinding, polishing

• Small welding tasks and spot welding

• Dismantling and repair of machinery

• FLT operation (full training provided)

• Any other duties as reasonably required by your supervisor

Candidate attributes:

• Well organised and proactive individual with high attention to detail, strong problem solving and time management skills

• Able to work well independently as well as part of a team

• Able to keep their working area tidy

• Good interpersonal skills
  

Optional: Experienced fitters may have the opportunity to carry out similar work on customer sites
