Job description
Griffith Textile Machines (GTM), based in Washington, part of the Ulster Group, are the market-leading manufacturer of specialist weaving machinery and ancillary equipment. GTM also manufacture Axminster carpets and are proudly embarking on a project to set up GB’s largest Axminster carpet manufacturing facility, in Washington.
Job Purpose: Working from engineering drawings to build commission and install machinery and sub assembly. Support Machine shop and other engineering functions.
Duties: · Read and interpret engineering drawings, identifying components and assemblies
· Inspection and fitting of sub-assemblies and final assemblies
· Painting, lubricating machinery as required
· Work as part of a team on overall and final loom assembly and installation
· Support installation of final loom build
· Assembly of mechanical systems and sub assemblies
· Attachment of electronic components / circuit boards
· Mechanical strip down, inspection and rebuild
· Use of a range of measuring tools and hand tools
· Work within loom building delivery schedule
· Ability to travel throughout the UK (including NI) to support onsite build and commissioning
· Support CNC machine shop activities including machine loading, component set-up and loading / unloading, basic maintenance.
Manage stocks of parts and consumables to support engineering functions.
This role is a day position with an early finish on Fridays (4.5 days per week)
