Job purpose: The role of the M&S Product & Technical Coordinator will be to support the M&S Service Provision team in making sure that all packing & growing sites are meeting M&S standards and supporting the M&S Technical Manager with a variety of tasks. The candidate will get good support and training across all functions as part of this small, friendly, dynamic team and good customer exposure, and by reporting in to the business unit lead an opportunity to shape career path in multiple potential directions.

Key accountabilities and decision ownership:

· Visiting M&S Direct Growers UK sites, understanding their operations and supporting them in delivering M&S standards and highlighting failures when found & reporting on site visits

· Jointly responsible for allocations and managing the relationship with import 3rd party packing site, Charltons

· Coordinating the purchase, sampling, and reporting on the scoring of retail samples for M&S benchmarking and occasion coordinate this at M&S Head Office, London

· Working closely with Charltons on product quality

· Responsible for M&S sample process, from arranging samples with growers, to booking couriers and collating customer feedback

· Manage variety and grower approval lists

· Help Technical Manager with ad hoc requests

· Accountability for the end-to-end supply chain function of key product areas at certain times of the year, including managing customer availability and demand planning, arrival PO creation and M&S sales tasks, ie PO amends, sales order grid management & stocksheet

· Review all business processes to ensure they are the most efficient and cost-effective way of working, eg courier costs

· Actively build internal and external customer & grower/packer relationships

· Develop relationships with key customer contacts

· Facilitate change and integrate new business requirements

· Commit to shadowing Technical Manager to develop skills

· Support operational & technical requirements for third party sites, including set up of new sites

· Support business wide ERP project where required

· Support Directors, Head of Operations & Financial Controller with ad-hoc information requests and projects

Skills, know-how and experience:

· Experience at a UK retail fresh produce supplier

· Wide ranging experience across different business departments

· Ability to plan & organise strategically

· Willingness to travel with in the UK & stay away on occasion

· The ability to inspire, motivate and lead

· Team player, “we” not “I” mentality

· Excellent communication and 'people skills'

· Strong relationship management/ building skills

· The ability to work calmly under pressure

· Decisive decision maker

· Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes including Excel, Power Point, MS Word. The ability to construct professional PowerPoint presentations, MS Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.

· Core hours 8-5 Monday-Friday, with weekends on a 1 in 4-6 week rota with the M&S & Directs Team

Office based with 1 day per week from home after satisfyingly requirements of role.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Graduate

Salary: £26,000.00-£27,000.00 per year
