We will appoint an Intern, reporting to the Head of Business Development who is highly experienced in M&A, IPO, SPVs, and SPAC, to assist in our M&A process, in what will be a challenging, but rewarding role for the right candidate.

About the position

Internships at Global Drum are of 3-6 month duration, designed for students and recent graduates, with career goals, that in this case, will include international corporate finance and M&A.

Our interns gain valuable industry experience, mentorship, as well as a unique look into growth businesses in the mediatech sector. We place value on ensuring our interns grow during their appointments, to complement their career goals.

The successful M&A Intern will work by objectives, reporting to the Head of Business Development, managing their day-to-day activities, with support from colleagues and regularly engage with senior management.

A successful intern outcome will have influenced corporate strategy and decision making, refined and built ground skills in financial analysis, accounting, and valuation in the context of cross-border transactions, and have enhanced their professional skills, mandatory for personal development.

The M&A internship is based in London or New York and may accommodate a level of remote working.

Responsibilities

  • Synthesise financial and operating information to identify possible acquisition targets.
  • Familiarise key regulatory requirements of relevant jurisdictions impacting operations..
  • Define and update financial models
  • Source market data to analyse trends to assist value transactions.
  • Draft, and be prepared to give briefings for a wider audience.
  • Actively contribute to discussions and client meetings.

Requirements

  • Common sense, initiative, with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • A sound work ethic, willingness to keep learning, driven to achieve high standards.
  • An enjoyment of analytical tasks, and working collaboratively in a can-do culture.
  • An appreciation of valuation methodologies and applications is an advantage
  • Strong financial and supporting IT skills
  • Fluency in English
