We are currently hiring for a Lorry Driver based at our Dungannon site.
The Job of a Lorry Driver in Catch and Collect involves transporting live birds from farms, and delivering them safely and soundly to the Dungannon Factory. The Catch and Collect Lorry Driver works as part of a team of people and independently reporting directly to the Transport Manager/Logistics Foreperson. Lorry Drivers are required to effectively liaise with Forepersons, other Lorry Drivers and Farmers.
The job involves long durations sitting in a lorry driving between the main Factory and farms. Work is carried out in outdoor conditions when securing/ unsecuring the load.
Hourly rate starts at: £12.92 per hour
The hours of work are Monday to Friday (flexi start 11am-2pm) and every other Sunday with an early start on these days.
What you will need:
Must be able to read, write, speak and listen in English
Must be numerate
Must be able to think clearly e.g. good reasoning ability
Must have good communication skills
Good manual dexterity is essential
Must be able to operate a Tachograph
Must have an awareness of hygiene and quality issues
Must have a positive attitude to work and work together as a team
Must have a HGV class 1 licence
Lorry driving experience is essential
Electric Pallet Truck/Forklift/ Reach Truck licence is desirable
Experience transporting food/food products/livestock/poultry/eggs is desirable
Evidence of ability to complete and understand paperwork is desirable
Knowledge of the importance of temperature control desirable
Good communication skills desirable
Experience and knowledge of hygiene, cleanliness and simple maintenance desirable
Digital Tachograph experience desirable
The ability to work on own initiative is desirable
Good interpersonal skills are desirable.
Up to date completed CPC training Essential. (Driver Qualification Card)
