What we are looking for:
We are now seeking an experienced Working Capital Assistant to support our UK Working Capital Team Leader based in London. The successful candidate will be highly motivated to play an active part in the global team who are making this happen and will be comfortable communicating with colleagues across all levels of the function.
The role will support the timely and efficient processing and monitoring of the London office’s Work in Progress and accounts receivable to ensure on-time billing and collection and that working capital days are maintained at acceptable levels. The role will report to the UK Working Capital Team leader Duncan Cameron.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain checklist of required client and billing information for each project to ensure invoicing can occur as soon as Partners have approved each invoice.
- Setup new client and maintain existing client records in SAP with up to date billing related information to ensure a streamlined process.
- Support the Working Capital Team Leader to maintain the up to date status of each outstanding debtor including the a view on it’s committed or expected collection, proactively escalating collections known to not be paid on time.
- Monitor Work in Progress in accordance with billing schedules.
- Create draft bills in line with letter of engagement for approval and finalisation in SAP.
- Regular reporting to project teams and clients on direct expenses incurred, as well as follow up with project teams on receipt of all expense claims and invoices.
- Monitor accounts receivable in line with invoice payment terms.
- Establishment of relationships with relevant client teams to enable efficient follow up and collection of accounts receivable.
- Regular reporting to project teams on status of Work in Progress and accounts receivable.
- Deputise for the Working Capital Team Leader as required.
- Support for European Working Capital Team colleagues as required.
Specific skills:
- Experience of having worked in a revenue control, billing or working capital team in an international professional services firm or similar environment subject to a short project WIP and debtor cycle.
- Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint and experience in utilising reporting software (e.g. Oracle PBC).
- Prior experience with an ERP system (SAP preferred).
- Confident working with and building relationships with L.E.K. project teams at all levels and with client contacts.
- A fast-paced learner who can hit the ground running.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and clarity of purpose.
- A track record of working under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Interest in continuous improvement and personal development including communication, presentation and systems implementation techniques.
- Fluent in English (other European languages and advantage).
- Interest in pursuing an accounting qualification. The role provides potential to support AAT/CIMA/ACCA qualifications dependent on experience and performance in role.
