Taylor Whitmore are currently seeking a Logistics Team Leader for our reputable client. This role initially is starting in Saffron Walden for training then moving to Newmarket.
Your main role will be to take responsibility for the transport function of the business and managing the driving team and all outgoing transport. You will be in charge of managing the performance of the driving team as well as the workload of the logistics department so previous experience in a similar role is essential.
This position is Monday-Friday 11:00am-20:00pm.
Having a Class 2 License or Counterbalance FLT license would be an advantage.

Responsibilities to include but not be limited to:
- Route planning 6-7 vehicles daily
- Leading, managing and holding accountable the Driving team
- Assessing every sales order to decide the optimum means of transport
- Planning and routing delivery vehicles
- Organizing additional transport and labor as required
- Liaising with the sales team regarding any issues, always executing their requests
- Delivery vehicle servicing, repair and maintenance as requires
- Operators license, CPC and tacograph compliance
- Managing associated admin including toll charges
- Managing the drivers holiday requests and other absences
- Providing cover for the Warehouse Team Leader
- Accident management
