Job Summary

Provide support to various shipping activities to deliver products on time and in full to meet with external and internal supplier, customer and legislative requirements. Working with the Operations Teams to continually improve cross departmental communication and effectiveness.

Ensure all shipments, including both domestic and international, are executed in a timely and accurate manner to customer requirements and company deadlines


Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preparation of all documentation in line with customer and country requirements. Including and not limited to commercial & revenue invoices, packing lists and any legalized documentation requiring preparation of Chamber of Commerce.
  • Arrange, with the customer, the booking of consignments by required mode of transport, either directly or through freight forwarders and supplying all necessary documentation (commercial invoice and all relevant shipping documents.
  • Managing and issuing proforma / milestone invoices, maintain the proforma / milestone log.
  • Maintain compliant records in line with HMRC requirements.
  • Work with all relevant departments with regards to Letter of Credit /Bills of Exchange, and present all documents to the bank in a timely manner.
  • Raise revenue invoices and submit, by email, to the customer. Recording all transactions.
  • Close out all jobs in a timely manner with either an export entry or a POD after shipment.
  • Clear imports with freight forwarders and give clearance instruction after checking vendor invoices against HMRC tariff checker.
  • Liaise delivery between Freight Forwarder and warehouse team.
  • Keep compliant retention log on all imports
  • To work within ISO 9001 Quality System and to observe Health, Safety and Environmental Regulations.

  • To perform all duties commensurate with the position as requested in the best interests of the Company.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of SAP or similar MRP system
  • Excel and Word


Education and Experience

  • At least 3 years experienced in a shipping role handling import/export and domestic shipping
