Based at the Waterwells site in Quedgeley, you’ll be part of strong and friendly team that supports the work of all Fire Service staff across the organisation.
About the Role
Being part of the Logistics & Resources Team will help keep the Service well supplied with the latest equipment to support community of Gloucestershire safe.
The Logistics & Resources Team play a critical role in suppling and supporting Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue by managing contracts for equipment and PPE the County of Gloucestershire.
The successful applicant will be expected to manage contracts, deal with suppliers and manage a team of committed people. You will also be responsible for organising the purchasing of equipment to supply Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue with the best equipment possible. This crucial role will involve extensive project working to enable GFRS to meet its organisational goals.
The ideal candidate will have experience of leading a Logistics & Resources/stores environment and have a genuine commitment to personal development and learning on the job.
To support in moving the service forward this post will be required to be involved in project work to achieve delivery. You will be reporting to the Logistics and Resources Station Manager who will be looking for an enthusiastic and experienced supervisor/ line manager to help in a comprehensive support function to the rest of our team, plus our other colleagues across GFRS and GCC.

We are looking for applicants who are organised, understand the role and are driven by improving our service. You will be expected to work closely with your colleagues, as well as undertaking your role on your own, therefore you will need to have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate a flexible approach with an ability to plan, priorities and manage workloads. Ideally you will have worked in a supervisory role previously. You will need to have a good attention to detail and have excellent IT skills.
