Our state-of-the-art facilities in Horwich are expanding and our new £4.2 million waste processing plant is now up and running. As a result, we are looking to grow our team of dedicated staff and the Logistics team now has an exciting new opportunity for a motivated and experienced Logistics Planner.
Competitive Hourly Rate DOE
Monday-Friday 8.00am to 4.30pm
plus 1 in 4 Saturdays 7am to 12pm
The Role
The postholder will join our Logistics team and will be responsible for ensuring that driver routes and loads are effectively planned, considering vehicle and material availability mileage and customer requirements. You will complete the daily planning and dynamic allocation of work to the fleet vehicles, prioritising deliveries and loads as needed for the smooth running of the business. This is a key role for the team, and you must be able to work proactively to monitor the vehicles throughout the day to ensure that schedules and routes are completed as planned. You will work effectively with the Yard team to ensure that all requirements are considered and that materials are delivered and/or collected according to business need.
What you need:
We are seeking a candidate who has experience working as a planner within a fast-paced, busy environment and understands transport compliance. Experience within the waste management industry would be beneficial, however not essential, as full training will be offered on starting. You must demonstrate an excellent telephone manner, and the ability to work proactively, taking ownership for resolving issues effectively. The successful candidate will need to have excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Attention to detail is key in this role, as you will be receiving and passing on crucial information to drivers and to the other teams within the company.
