Job description

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and optimization of all logistics activities for Vaculug. This includes managing the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of retread tyres and other related products. The Logistics Manager will also work closely with other departments to ensure that logistics requirements are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Duties will involve:

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies that support Vaculug's business goals.
  • Manage the transportation of retread tyres and other related products, including selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and tracking shipments.
  • Management of 3PL transport provider.
  • Manage the warehousing of retread tyres including space planning, inventory control, stock integrity and order fulfilment.
  • Manage the distribution of retread tires and other related products, including selecting routes and scheduling deliveries.
  • Direct responsibility for the Warehouse Operatives.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensuring efficient planning, reviewing and communication of operational requirements and changes.
  • Ensuring compliance of the operation to the Quality systems, Environmental systems, industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Management and optimization of casing disposal processes

Knowledge of:

  • Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word and Teams
  • Microsoft Dynamics (desirable)
  • Working with the standards of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of logistics principles and practices.
  • Strong warehouse system experience.
  • Leadership qualities including the ability to enthuse and motivate.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • A strong knowledge of Health & Safety at work.
