The role
Huel has achieved phenomenal growth since launching in 2015, working with a network of contract manufacturers to supply our products worldwide. The scale of Huel’s business is now at a point where we are ready to bring the manufacturing of our core ranges in-house - with the aim of driving big efficiency, quality and sustainability improvements to the way we create the products we are so proud of !
We’re well into the design and build stage of the project now and are looking for an exceptional Factory Manager to recruit & lead the operational factory team and run all of our warehousing and manufacturing activities on the site .
You’ll be based on our new site in Milton Keynes working in our new Manufacturing team within our Operations function. No day is ever the same, but here’s an insight into what you can expect!
- Overall ownership of all activities on Huel’s first manufacturing site, delivering consistent, high quality product supply across multiple product ranges
- Developing a strong site manufacturing culture- ensuring that the operating principles within this (Safety, Hygiene, Quality, Service, Cost & Sustainability) are implemented in a balanced way.
- Driver of all manufacturing KPI’s for Huel, working with warehouse and production teams to diagnose and resolve performance issues
- Owner of manufacturing health and safety performance, taking a proactive approach to risk management and hazard analysis and ensuring compliance.
- Collaborate with Huel’s technical team to ensure site is operating to BRC quality standards, achieving AA grade audit scores, with a robust incident management procedure in place.
- Manage and execute all engineering activities on site, covering maintenance (planned and breakdowns), continuous improvement, and automation/new capability projects
- Ensure high accuracy of stock reporting from raw materials and FG warehouse and OTIF deliveries to external partners
- Work closely with data and IT teams to develop measurement and reporting for key processes and metrics using our new WMS and MES systems.
- Become a key part of the Operations leadership team, helping to define and implement the team’s overall culture, strategy and objectives.
What we're looking for in you
This role will best suit someone with a proven track record as a leader within FMCG food manufacturing in the UK . You'll have strong people management experience of both manufacturing and warehouse operations, leading a team of 25+
You'll also have experience of operating sites to BRC standard, with knowledge of audit prep processes (FDA knowledge is a plus) and you'll have Health and Safety management experience, with relevant associated training/qualifications (NEBOSH/IOSH) too .
Prior delivery of CAPEX projects to improve automation and efficiency on manufacturing sites is preferred with experience of budget accountability for £3m+ OPEX .
