Mobility Aids Service Logistics Manager
Location: Crawley (with regular travel required throughout the South East)
Hours: 35
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £30,000 per annum
Can you take responsibility for the day-to-day operational activity and the management of the administration, maintenance and decontamination activities?
As Mobility Aids Service Logistics Manager, you will support the Hub manager through having overall responsibility for delivering operational activity within the hub. You will line manage all staff within hub and ensure that the operations run in a way that ensures the service meets the needs of people in crisis. The British Red Cross Mobility Aids Service are committed to ensuring that during a period of personal crisis everyone has access to the equipment they need, whoever and wherever they are.
We offer hire of wheelchairs and other mobility items, as well as training on how to properly use them. As such, we give people the ability to continue living independently without the need for outside help, whilst also easing people's transition to living at home again following a hospital stay.
In part of the territory, we have relationships with health commissioners to provide equipment that allows people to maintain their independence whilst living with a health condition.
A day in the life of a Mobility Aids Service Logistics Manager will include,
Being responsible for maximising the use of resources to ensure effective use of funds, overseeing effective resource deployment and route planning and driving a culture of best practice and continuous improvement, along with regularly undertaking quality audits of stock and procedures and actions as required.
Ensuring the implementation of fully compliant quality standards with agreed key performance indicators and targets, while developing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment in line with British Red Cross policy and procedures and current legislation.
To be a successful Mobility Aids Service Logistics Manager, you’ll need;
To have previous experience leading and managing a team of staff and / or volunteers along with along with managing collaborative relationships with both internal and external partners.
To be confident working in a fast-paced environment with a demanding workload, where there may be competing priorities and a challenging performance agenda.
Experience managing income, expenditure, and budgets along with reporting using data and information pulled from a range of sources and can demonstrate knowledge of maintaining a stock management system.
Excellent IT skills, including MS Office and other databases and quality systems.
To be able to demonstrate good analytical skills, along with excellent communication skills and an understanding of performance metrics.
To confidently manage risk within the workplace and can use initiative when problem solving.
To have previously worked in a logistics role, and ideally you have knowledge of the third sector.

The closing date for the role is 23.59 hours on 5th July 2023 with interviews expected shortly afterwards.
