Logistics First Line Manager
The Purpose:
Manage daily/weekly activities to meet KPIs for Safety, Quality, Service, and Cost while adhering to Standard Operations Procedures (SOPs). The role is in our Samelsbury location, reporting to Logistics Manager.

The role:
  • Achieve volume throughput of 60k hl/week (delivery volume) with 32k internal and 89k keg yard pallet warehouse capacity
  • Implement continuous improvement culture & Standard Operating Procedures. Comply with EH&S and Quality standards
  • Manage 25-30 direct reports with focus on safety, quality, service, cost. Set targets & manage performance consistently
  • Manage schedules, training needs & performance; lead by example & celebrate success
  • Ensure team flexibility & development to meet business needs and full team potential.
  • Manage warehouse operations shifts & track attendance via TMS, lead shift handover meetings. Manage shift roster, including arranging replacements for absent employees on next shift
  • Adhere to warehouse processes & interface with other Brewery departments
  • Report team KPIs & motivate team to achieve them
  • Follow up on innovation activities & assist with capital projects
Who we’re looking for:
  • Technical qualification with a degree or relevant operations experience
  • Experience in managing teams and employee relations
  • Management/supervisory experience of warehousing
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing, logistics, and transport processes
  • Record of delivering process improvement and project management
  • Strong organizational, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills and communication
  • Strong leadership, rapport-building, and motivation skills
  • Systematic approach to business solutions and team player
