WHAT TO EXPECT

The Logistics Engineering team are looking for a new Logistics Engineering Strategy Manager to join their team at Logistics Operations Centre (LOC) Solihull, the successful candidate will manage the development and execution of our future Logistics Strategy by creating the baseline of our current state and setting the targets and KPI’s for our transformation to define a global Logistics Operating System.


You will actively participate in benchmarking activities to drive innovation and introduce innovative technologies and industry best practise in order to drive competitive value as well as assisting the company’s Digitalisation Team with Ai transformation and technological advances towards Industry 4.0, particularly in the field of In Plant Logistics.


Working closely with Product Design, Product Engineering, Supply Chain, Digital, Manufacturing Operations, and other Global Manufacturing Engineering technology teams, Logistics Engineering will play an integral part in delivering the company’s future re-imagine cycle plan into our Manufacturing operations.


Logistics Engineering has the additional responsibility of leading the JLR Global Logistics technology forums as well as driving the technology roadmap.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage numerous strategic workstreams including the creation and management of our Global Logistics Integrated Business Plan, for driving process harmonization, performance and productivity measurement across the sites
  • Analyse the Logistics Value Streams, the design and implementation of new operating models and structures that will drive standardisation, efficiencies and agility to assist our Refocus 2.0 strategy
  • Development and management of Environmental and Sustainability Roadmaps for the function
  • Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the materials planning and logistics strategy
  • Connect with the relevant logistics stakeholder groups on strategic initiatives within the Global Logistics Organisation


WHAT YOU'LL NEED


Essential:

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing, especially in the areas of supply chain, linefeed & warehousing processes
  • Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
  • Knowledge and experience in continuous improvement and lean principles
  • Experience of implementing the best practice logistics processes and to deliver high levels of standardisation
  • Ability to lead and manage a cross functional team and facilitate collective workshops
  • Interest for innovation processes & methodologies
  • Resilient character, able to work independently - applying rigorous processes and standards
  • An authentic and results orientated style – able to liaise and inspire such with teams and colleagues
  • Highly self-motivated and assertive, able to demonstrate confident negotiation
  • Experience of analysis of data and cost benefits, the production of metrics and the development of plans with defined objectives
  • Experience in the application of a logical approach to Problem Solving


Desirable:

  • Experience of assisting large scale transformation projects
  • Experience in delivering automation technologies in the field of logistics
  • Knowledge of SAP & IT Infrastructure deployment
  • Change management experience
