Company Description: va-Q-tec Ltd is specialised in high quality container rentals and services for Pharmaceutical, Healthcare and Biotechnology companies. With increasing partnerships worldwide, va-Q-tec Ltd is becoming one of the leading global pharma cold chain container providers.

Opportunity: We are looking for an individual to join a small, dynamic logistics team based initially in Rochester (do note however, that the office is relocating to Maidstone in October-23). You will work with your colleagues to manage the global inventory of rental assets and use data to make transport plans to move them between our global network stations. We are looking for candidates to support the evolution of the department within our rapidly growing business and for someone with that rare blend of creative thinking and attention to detail.

Roles and responsibilities:

  • Identify potential inventory shortages and find strategic solutions to ensure availability.
  • Help negotiate cost-effective rates and fixed tariffs.
  • Carry out each shipment from booking, processing, monitoring and delivery through to in- voice payment.
  • Provide internal stakeholders with regular updates and follow up for time critical shipments which includes, transport and customs delays, proof of delivery, charges, resolutions etc.
  • Ensure communication with service providers is kept up-to-date.
  • Create, check and approve shipping paperwork.
  • Review 3rd party shipping documents for accuracy and approval.
  • Send pre-alerts to overseas offices, service partners and customers.
  • Ensure export and import customs requirements are met.

  • Data handling for reporting and strategic analysis.
  • Maintain and enhance customer services by ensuring current and future procedures are fol- lowed and systems used correctly.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and international trade regulations.
  • Familiarise yourself with all services offered by va-Q-tec as well as our products and technical specifications.
  • Assist develop and maintain relationships with clients, internal departments and suppliers.
  • Identify areas for improvement and streamline processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in logistics processes through lean practices, KPI’s and stand- ardisation.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Maintain standards in line with the requirements of the role and any va-Q-tec Ltd policies and procedures in place.
  • Undertake any other duties and responsibilities as may be determined from time to time.
  • Work any additional hours as the requirements of the job demand, subject to prior negotia- tion.

Required experience:

  • Experience in multimodal transport planning and operations (air, sea in particular and road).
  • Good knowledge of international supply chain and logistics.
  • Data handling and reporting.
  • Understanding general customs processes and requirements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word).

Desirable skils:

  • The ideal candidiate can be flexible in working hours to support a global business operating across multiple time zones and will be keen to develop a wide range of skills and experience in a high service logistics sector.
  • Experience in working with Power BI.

Salary: £35,000.00 to £40,000.00 depending upons skills and experience.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
