Job description
Dispatches and coordinates drivers to calls as they are received, using information on and daily factors such as driver loads, locations, and customer needs to balance cost and speed of response. Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Snapshot
The Logistics Coordinator arranges shipping and transportation of owned, leased, rented or newly purchased assets to support operations throughout the US and abroad. Maintains the inventory database of response equipment and communicates with our vendor network to ensure all records are up to date and accurate. Must be available to be deployed as logistics support in the field during emergency incidents in the US and elsewhere.
Day in the Life
Follow up on outstanding tasks, emails and requests
Coordinate purchase/rental, transportation & delivery of goods & equipment
Interface with customer/transporter/operations to ensure internal and/or customer satisfaction.
Communicate internally and externally to track owned & vendor equipment lists and documentation.
File and organize paperwork related to equipment regulatory compliance
Ensure all vendor and equipment records are listed accurately within internal & external (regulatory) databases.
Act as a resource for managers in the field to support operations.
Prepare commercial invoices and shipping labels
Preferred Qualifications
2 year’s logistics and/or maritime experience preferred
Knowledge of the MS Office Suite with proficiency using Excel.
Ability to obtain Transportation Worker ID Card (TWIC) & Hazwoper 24 hour certification
Ability to travel as logistics support throughout the US and US Virgin Islands
