Avaliable Job Today Migdale Transport Limited are based in Southeast Sutherland in the Scottish Highlands and provide live fish transport solutions to the fish farming industry throughout mainland UK, Orkney Isles, Shetland Isles, Western Isles, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Faroes Isles and France. We move farmed Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout, Lumpfish and Wrasse by road & sea.
Migdale Transport Ltd is a 100% family-owned Scottish company, established in 2008. We have built up our rolling fleet to ten trucks and thirteen bespoke trailers. As well as the specialised trailers, we have a flatbed available for general haulage. We also own two wellboats, The Migdale and The Marsali which we manage alongside our trucks throughout the year.
We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our logistics team as we continue to expand Migdale Transport Ltd. Our Logistics Team work closely with our customers to provide comprehensive service and solutions to their wellboat and truck requirements. We continuously adapt our services to meet the needs of our customers and the industry.

Responsibilities
The role of the Logistics Operator is key for ensuring success in Migdale Transport. This role focuses on the trucks aspect of Migdale Transport, it is directly supported by another Logistics Coordinator who is currently employed with us. Some of your key responsibilities are as follows –
· Planning and adapting work for our 10 HGV drivers for the year ahead, under the guidance of our Logistics Management team while communicating with our drivers and customers on a daily basis to ensure we are offering our services at an optimum level.
· Regularly booking ferries and organising ferry paperwork for our drivers.
· Answering the phones in a friendly and welcoming manner and being proactive in your approach to dealing with any enquiries.
· Booking MOTs and Inspections for the trucks which best fits the plan.
· Assisting with the website updates when required.
· Administrative tasks such as logging data, producing invoices, filing paperwork, ordering items for Migdale Transport staff etc.
· Following procedures for French/international trips and collecting required paperwork for drivers.
Requirements
Essential
· Being on call every 5th weekend to support truck drivers and wellboat staff.
· To speak and write in English confidently.
· Confident using Microsoft software, for example, emails, excel, word etc.
· Confident with IT skills.
· Effective communication skills
· Strong teamwork
· Great customer service
Desirable
· Experience from working within the aquaculture industry.
· Experience from working within the road haulage industry.
