Position Summary:
Responsible and accountable for ensuring all shipping and customs requirements are completed accurately and within time-critical parameters for international air export shipments and domestic road movements. This includes working with customers and our corporate partners overseas to ensure all governmental, legal, and industry regulatory procedures are followed and due diligence is undertaken on all aspects of our client's shipments. The selection of appropriate routings, communication and issue resolution, including the preparation of related documentation, for the entire shipment cycle, are the key components of this position.
Responsibilities:
- Accountable for client interfacing, via phone, teams, and emails for compliance-related issues.
- Communicate critical shipment status information with clients, directly and via Transport Management System
- Follow all relevant procedures, client protocols and quality criteria in accordance with good manufacturing practices
- Have a secondary skill-set relevant to the business, such as accounts, customs procedures, or non-standard shipment project management.
Consignment Processing
- Accountable for confirming all shipments have been inspected prior to despatch and are accurate against the documentation provided.
- Responsible for ensuring Dangerous Goods consignments are inspected and handled as per IATA regulations.
- Selecting the most appropriate routing for shipments via air or road carriers for cost efficiency and delivery within the required time and temperature parameters
- Ensuring custom clearance of consignments are completed and required documentation is presented and received from customs brokers.
Documentation
- Responsible for the creation of shipment documentation, including but not limited to master airway bill, house airway bill, manifest, shipment labels, pre-alerts, and export declaration.
- Uploading shipment-related documents into TMS.
- Responsible for creating and submitting reports to a deadline, based on shipment data, accounts, and other relevant metrics

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of international logistics and customs experience, and understands the critical importance of building relationships and providing outstanding services to customers/clients.
- Strong written and verbal communication#
- Relationship development and leadership skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Solid understanding of Word and Excel
- Knowledge of the airline industry and routings
- Logistics / Supply Chain / Cold Chain / Courier experience
- Secondary knowledge of (a) UK Customs import and export processes, or (b) accounts and P&L functions or (c) Special Project Management.
