Job description
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum plus a car/car allowance, bonus potential and enhanced pension
Hours: 40 hours per week
When you see the world as we do, you’ll seize the opportunity to take better care of the planet, its resources and help it become a better place for everyone.
It’s why we’re looking for someone who sees the world in a similar way, to take up an exciting Subcontract Logistics Category Manager role, in our passionate, friendly and successful UK procurement team.
This is a hybrid/ national role, based from one of Veolia’s principal UK offices: in Cannock, Staffordshire; London and Warrington. The role will also require some UK travel.
It doesn’t matter if you’re looking to lead from the front, or just do a good day’s work. We know that everyone here at Veolia can help us work alongside our communities, look after the environment and contribute to our inclusive culture.
What will you be doing?
You will partner with business stakeholders to develop and implement category strategies to deliver efficient and environmentally sustainable logistics solutions. Your plans shall include actions which shall reduce Veolia’s scope three emissions and support the delivery of our Net Zero roadmap.
You will manage a significant proportion of the company's expenditure and correspondingly large supply base. You will look to shape the supply base to be the right size to leverage economies of scale but also respond to the many logistics needs of a large and diverse business.
Veolia’s purpose is to resource the world. We want to deliver true ecological transformation. To achieve this all of our supply chain must meet our strict compliance standards and uphold our values. As the organisation’s lead for subcontract logistics, you will partner with us to achieve this ambitious goal.
What are we looking for?
You must have previous experience in subcontract logistics/ 3PL procurement. You must have demonstrable experience in managing all stages of the procurement lifecycle, not least drafting and executing category strategies and collaborating and influencing business stakeholders.
Experience of waste transport and disposal logistics will be beneficial.
You will be a clear oral and written communicator and demonstrate a positive can-do attitude.
You may have a degree or higher level qualification. MCIPS or part qualified CIPS are not essential but would be desirable.
Our promise to you
Here at Veolia, we know that a genuinely good role goes both ways.
So alongside your salary, you’ll get 25 days of holiday, an extensive benefits package, which includes our market-leading pension and share scheme, and a range of employee discounts. Also to help you further, we provide mental health and financial support, so you can lean on us whenever you need to.
Apply today, so we can make a difference for generations to come.
