Logistics & Stores Agent
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Logistics and Stores Manager in:
- tracking, receiving inspection and booking-in of incoming deliveries of aircraft engines and associated materiel;
- maintaining the integrity of warehoused and stored items, both physically and electronically, and supporting the needs of Production through binning/picking/ issuing and counter service;
- tool control;
- expediting the supply of materiel required by Production to support the aircraft engine maintenance program;
- handling and movement of aircraft engines, aircraft engine spares and other materiel;
- raising despatch paperwork and commercial invoices; and
- arranging delivery and collection times with freight forwarders;
- ensuring the company’s compliance with HMRC regulations relating to the import and export of goods; and the requirements of the company’s, Inward Processing Relief and Customs Warehouse HMRC warehouse approvals; and
- issuing appropriate import and export clearance instructions;
- and from time to time, sourcing and ordering of aircraft engine spares and other materiel.
You will need to become certified and proficient in operating counterbalance forklift trucks
Requirements:
The following experience is required:
- storekeeping.
- inspecting aircraft parts (as part of a receipts process).
Experience in any of the following areas would be beneficial:
- operating a forklift truck; expediting; importing and exporting goods; determining Customs Procedure Codes and Tariff Codes; working with freight forwarders; purchasing; working within an engineering or aviation environment.
The ability to:
- physically move materiel as required by this role; prioritise work; communicate effectively and persuasively; influence outcomes; build relationships with colleagues, customers and suppliers; work independently, and also effectively as part of a team; maintain an organised and safe working environment; operate an overhead crane after suitable training; and satisfy the requirements of the Quality Department to be authorised and be issued with a Stores Inspection stamp with authorisation to inspect and receive incoming goods on behalf of the company within 24 months of being appointed into this role.
We will also consider recent Graduates who have not yet had the opportunity to develop the required experience listed above but who have a desire to develop a career in either Supply Chain, Logistics or Customs Compliance.
You will also be required to provide full employment or education references for the last five years, adequately account for and demonstrate your whereabouts for any gaps in employment or education during this period, attend and pass security training and be subject to a satisfactory criminal records check.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday 07:00 to 15:00, Tuesday to Friday 08:00 to 16:00. This role will require you to occasionally work overtime and provide out-of-hours support for critical production or operational requirements, provide customs clearance instructions and/or assist with the receipt or despatch of aircraft engines.
