What are we looking for
We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics and Planning Manager who will lead the end to end production planning, logistics and material control process to ensure the smooth running of both the warehouse and planning teams which in turn support the manufacturing department.
The position will be pivotal in the development of the team, department and processes. The role will communicate with various departments/stakeholders as required and will ensure a fit for purpose planning and materials & movement support function to all departments and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- To lead both areas of Production planning and Warehouse management
- Champion all things Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People within the teams
- To create, modify and improve policies and procedures within your department for planning and material control to cover end to end material control
- To develop KPI’s to monitor and create reaction plans to ensure the departments are performing to the business needs
- Monitor, develop and coach your team
- Monitor stock inventory levels and accuracy
- Accountability of financial stock counts and report on their completion/variances – and create resolution plans where needed
- Monitor the departments work load and report on progress and risks along with mitigation plans
- Review and present plans to deliver on-time and in-full to our customers
- To create and deliver strategic plans to ensure the departments are operating at the most efficient level in line with business needs
- To conduct regular communications with heads of departments when required and escalate any concerns as they arise with resolution plans when needed
About You
Knowledge and Experience
- Logistics or Supply Chain qualification advantageous
- Previous management and team development experience +10yrs
- Demonstrable experience of the end to end supply chain, with particular emphasis on system focused control of stock and planning
- Extensive knowledge of MRP systems (Dynamics / SAP)
- Demonstrable experience from a manufacturing environment where there are multiple internal/external customers to service
- Experience of a project environment would be beneficial but not essential
