Job Title: Logistic Operator
Department: Group Resources – Import Centre
Responsible to: Production Manager - Sheerness
Location: Import Centre - Sheerness
Hours of work: 38.75hrs per week
Job Purpose
Vehicle Inspection – to carry out visual inspections of new vehicles arriving at the Import Centre.
Vehicle movement – to carry out the movement of all vehicles within the compound, locating to parking bays and changes batteries as and when instructed.
Inspect and report damages found in the compound.
To use IT equipment for vehicle updates.
Carry out maintenance repairs within the compound as requested
To perform and execute any instructions or other reasonable requests given by Production Manager or senior management team.
Comply with current Health & Safety legislation.
Key Accountabilities
- Dual responsibility for daily logistic movements and maintenance.
- Liaise with line manager to determine required vehicle lead-times and deadlines.
- Working with the logistic team to ensure all requests are completed.
- Legally complaint for driving vehicles on public roads.
- Carry out battery maintenance duties.
- Liaising with office team regarding load vehicles
- Be polite and professional manner when dealing with visitors or staff
- Provide support to Office and Production Managers
Job Qualifications
- Hold the required legal driving qualifications
- Communication skills between internal and external staff and teams
- Flexible working hours
- Basic understanding of Health & Safety legislation
- General PC skill set
- GCSE – English & Maths
