We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our Trust and Fiduciary Services (TFS) team in Jersey (Channel Islands) as a Local Trust Accounting Manager.
The primary function of the Local Trust Accountant, is to prepare annual clients’ accounts, regular schedules or ad-hoc reports according to different regulatory / client requirement; to dispatch reports e.g. Annual trust account, Portfolio Valuation Report, Asset & Liabilities, Cash Statements to client; to perform trust accounts’ cash / securities reconciliation & to provide operational support.

In this role, you will have:
- To prepare and review annual clients’ accounts, regular schedules or ad-hoc reports according to different regulatory / client requirements.
- To define the accounting treatment for Trust accounts.
- To liaise with internal parties (i.e. Trust relationship Officers (TROs) / Trust relationship Managers (TRMs) / Overseas site) regarding the account format, transaction, tax implication, schedules and calculation entitlement.
- To liaise with external parties (i.e. client tax advisors / accountants) regarding the accounting treatment and reporting format and handles the client / external auditor’s queries and questions.
- To handle workflows, exception reports and prepare returns for daily operations.
- To assist the compliance/regulatory reporting for TFS CI (e.g. FATCA, Section 13F filing)
- To conduct reviews of Operating and Investment Companies in accordance with internal requirements.
- Ensuring current operating system is able to support the new financial products / new regulatory requirements, assist to perform all User Acceptance Testing and escalate for any exceptions / problems.
- To prepare statistics for management information purposes, and review statistics prepared by offshoring partners.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Qualified accountant with ACCA or equivalent.
- Work experience in financial, accounting or auditing industry.
- Experience with NavOne will be an advantage.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting policies, strong operations and workflow capabilities.
- Strong risk control and compliance mind-set.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with other teams.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and reporting skills abilities to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources.
