Job description
We are seeking a motivated person with great people skills to become our Local Delivery Lead. As a Local Delivery Lead you will work with our Asset Performance and Field Operations Teams to take an overview role for the delivery of the revenue maintenance in Thames Area.
You will bring together asset management planning and programming to lead our annual funding bid, resulting allocation and budget management. You will own our local procurement strategy and use this to deliver our programme through our internal Field Operations Teams, framework suppliers, and other external partners. Whatever the delivery mechanism you’ll assure quality and maintain legal compliance too.
Optimisation of our programme is key, and so you will always be looking for innovation to make efficiencies, environmental improvements and carbon savings.
As well as this, you will be a valuable part of our Operations/Waterways Leadership Team, although you won’t have line management responsibilities, you will offer technical leadership across Thames.

The team
As Asset Owners, Maintainers and Operators, we reduce flood risk for our communities and enhance our environment. We prepare Asset Management Plans, contribute to revenue delivery, manage contractors, and operate our assets during floods.
You will be an active part of the Area Operations and waterways Leadership Team, reporting to the Thames Operations Managers. You'll work closely with Asset Performance, Field Operations teams, our National Services, and other internal and external partners and stakeholders.

Experience/skills required
We’re looking for positive energy, a can-do attitude, a fresh perspective, and someone that’s excited to help us achieve our EA2025 vision
- You will need to demonstrate your capability in the delivery of a large and complex work programme. You will be used to effectively managing multiple priorities and competing demands.
- Ability to effectively manage finances is essential and knowledge of Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) funding routes desirable.
- You will have experience of contract management, ideally also with experience of commercial procurement.
- Technical leadership is important in this role. Although you won’t have direct line reports you will need to lead and deliver effectively through others including internal and external colleagues and partners. Having excellent working relationships is key.
- A working knowledge of Health, Safety and Wellbeing and Environmental Risk Management is also essential
