Job description
Loans Agency
Manchester
As a Barclays Loans Agency, you will be working within the EMEA Agency Team. Within this role, you will act as a conduit between a borrower and its syndicate of lenders relating to its relevant facility agreement, including where applicable as security trustee. This is a great opportunity for you to be part of Operations team where you will oversee the negotiation, execution, management, administration, monitoring and control of Barclays’ corporate, leveraged, trade and structured loan facilities.
Barclays is one of the world's largest and most respected financial institutions, with 329 years of success, quality and innovation behind us. We offer careers that provide endless opportunity – helping millions of individuals and businesses thrive, and creating financial and digital solutions that the world now takes for granted.
We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances Please discuss the detail of the working pattern options for the role with the hiring manager.
• Executing transactions actively from a facility agent perspective
- Liaising with lawyers and other professional advisers (technical/insurance) including negotiation of amendment documentation
- Leading and managing a portfolio of facilities on a day-to-day basis within good terms and conditions
- Providing and negotiating fees for new Agency roles
- Reviewing, commenting on, and negotiating loan documentation
- Participating actively in collating data for global reports on the Loan Portfolio
- Monitoring compliance with terms and conditions of syndicated loan facility agreements
- Ensuring documented reporting information is received in a timely manner and disseminated to lenders appropriately
What we’re looking for:
• Demonstrable industry experience in the loan market, particularly with LMA / LSTA documentation or a legal background in syndicated loan documentation
- Experience of providing detailed instructions to lawyers and other professionals
- Broad knowledge of specialist and often complex financing products including structured/project financing, leverage, real estate financing and trade finance products
- Some knowledge of financial modelling
• Knowledge of operational/funding issues to ensure that unsupportable deals are not signed, and workable solutions are conducted in good time
- Ability to ensure a workable agency interaction with other parts of the Firm including Loan Servicing, Trade Finance, Treasury and the derivative products
Where will you be working?
Based in our Manchester office, which is in the heart of the city centre. Offering a modern working environment, with restaurants, bars and gyms just a stone’s throw away from the office.
