Job description
The Canadian Industrial Heritage Centre is a registered charitable organization formed to promote the importance of Canada’s industrial history. The CIHC honours Canada's industrial heritage by bringing stories to life through interactive educational projects. We preserve data, resources, and artifacts and interpret it through engaging experiences and exhibits. We create diverse and inclusive heritage/cultural programs centred around industry, labour and environmental history.
Duties
· Coordinating communication such as directing phone calls and emails, maintaining social-media.
· Responding to inquiries and managing meeting schedules for Board and committees.
· Creating and coordinating content for two websites administered by the Company
· Simple bookkeeping
· Assisting with event organization
· Filing forms and documents
· Assisting in applying for grants and foundation submissions
· Other administrative duties as assigned by the President. Examples are: office related errands, reporting activities to the Board, attending meetings, assisting with newsletter, marketing assistance, etc.
Requirements
· Excellent written and verbal communication
· Proficiency in word processing and CMS web software
· Knowledge of Brantford community
· Must have own transportation in and around Brantford
· Knowledge of granting opportunities
· Ability to manage diverse workload independently with minimal supervision.
· Ability to solve problems independently with attention to detail
Location
· Approximately 40% work from home, 30% work from office, 30% work from various locations in Brantford and immediate surrounding area
Experience
· Previous experience in a similar position is desirable but not essential.
