Job description
Our organisation is currently looking for a Live-In Support Worker who is passionate about supporting people. The ideal candidate has a genuine interest in the lives of people with complex disabilities and wants to be an integral part of the team which provides services to positively promote individuals lives.
What will I be doing? This is a hands-on job in which no two days are the same. Your duties will include:
- Promoting the independence of people we support
- Supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out or going away on holiday.
- Arranging activities in the home and in the local community
- Developing residents' life skills and personal interests
- Helping residents stay safe and healthy
- Assisting with personal care needs if required
- Manual handling
- Supporting residents with medication
- Ensuring record keeping is always maintained to the required standard and contributing to service monitoring requirements.

Shift Patterns
This is a 24 hour service, therefore flexibility is essential. You will be working a range of shifts from 8:00/8:00 am to 8:00/8:00pm. Please note that working hours may vary from service to service.

What skills and qualities do I need to have?
- Passionate, caring and enthusiastic
- Flexible, patient and non-judgemental
- A great team player with lots of energy
- Able to demonstrate good communication skills
- Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling where needed.
- Previous experience in working in a mental health setting.
- Good knowledge of all relevant legislation in relation to mental health and mental health capacity Act.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership skills with challenging patient behaviours.
