We require a couple, friends or individuals willing to share a bedroom to join the team as Maintenance Manager and Housekeeper or GA at our boutique Hell Bay Hotel, taking charge of the upkeep and presentation of our hotel & grounds on the beautiful island of Bryher, Isles of Scilly, UK.

Hours: Full Time + On Call
Contract Length: Seasonal or Permanent available (starting Winter 2022/23)
Maintenance Manager:
Duties Include:
- Taking charge of prioritising and actioning all hotel maintenance requirements
- Ensuring high stardands of functionality, efficiency and safety throughout the property
- Completing regular maintenance on sewage systems
- Managing a small team of Maintenance Assistants and a Porter to ensure efficient running of the department
- Responsibility for ordering equipment and materials required, arranging and coordinating quotes from suppliers
- General gardening and ensuring all outdoor areas are well-maintained
- Liaising with our wider Services/Maintenance team on Tresco for major repairs/maintenance schedules
- Meeting the freight boat and transporting deliveries to the hotel
- Assisting the Porter with driving guests and luggage to and from the quay as required
- Meeting and Greeting guests from the boat upon arrival
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Experience in a similar role is essential, along with any qualification or exposure to: electrics, plumbing, fire safety, carpentry, swimming pool & plant room management.
- A hands-on, can-do person with an eye for detail
- Able to prioritise conflicting demands and allocate budget accordingly
- Driving licence is essential, and previous tractor and fork-lift experience desirable
- Welcoming and helpful with friendly customer service
- Able to quickly pick up new skills in a new environment
- Proactive, self-motivated and able to work well both individually and as part of a larger team
- Good communication and people management skills
- Willing to work weekends and be on call at least one evening per week
Housekeeper:
Duties Include:
- Cleaning guest accommodation to a very high standard
- Cleaning bar, restaurant and other hotel communal areas
- Performing inventory checks so that rooms are ready and fully equipped for the next guests
- Checking hotel for any maintenance or decoration issues and reporting these to the maintenance team
Our Ideal Candidate:
- A perfectionist with a keen eye for detail
- Experienced in or have good knowledge of housekeeping
- Good at working efficiently as part of a team
- Willing to undergo any training provided to assist in the role
- Well presented and maintain smart appearance (uniform is provided)
- Consistently hard working, flexible and enthusiastic
