Home Instead Guildford and Woking are looking for a Live in carer that drives
Job Description
‘I live in a cottage style house behind a gated community in the leafy area of Woking.
My home has close access to the A3 and all local amenities.
I already have a wonderful live in carer who works two-weeks on and, two-weeks off.
I’m looking for an equally lovely live in carer to work two-weeks on and two-weeks off on the opposite rotation to her.
You would have access to your own room (single) and bathroom.
A little about me! I’m in my late 80’s, my mobility has improved since I had a fall at the beginning of the year (this prompted me to have a live in). I now mobilise using walking sticks.
I’m an early riser and, generally wake between 6.30-7am. After I’ve enjoyed my first cuppa of the day in bed, I have breakfast around 7.30am.
I still take pride in my appearance and skin regime; I also take pleasure in a nice foot and hand soak.
I like to catch up with national and world events by reading the newspaper as well as keeping my brain active by doing the crossword.
I’m fond of the garden and the communal ground. I enjoy spending time outside (weather permitting.)
After lunch at 1pm, I do like to watch a bit of TV, I adore watching golf as I used to play up until I was 60ish and I was pretty good at it too!
I’m sometimes keen on a daily walk; this helps improve my strength and mobility alongside my daily exercises.
Remaining independent is very important to me and I will try and help around the house by carrying out housework, food prep and shopping with you.
6pm is supper time. I enjoy home cooked foods such as roast dinners, sausage ‘n’ mash, shepherd’s pie and lasagne. These are a few of my favourites.
After I’ve eaten, I enjoy a good natter. I love a good chat about current affairs, what’s going on in the world, sports, and general topics on anything.
Around 8-9pm I’m ready for bed. I may stay in bed reading a book or watching the ‘Repair shop’ programme before falling asleep.’
