This post has been placed by Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services on behalf of a client. The client will direct the PA but will use PCVS as a third party for the purposes of applications.

About me

Hello I am a man in my 30s with muscular dystrophy. I am an electric wheelchair user and live in the Hampton area. I require full time staff to live in for 1 to 2 weeks at a time to provide support throughout the day. I follow a plant-based diet, so meals are fresh and prepared from scratch.

During lock-down I tried to grow my own vegetables which did not go to plan, I intend to improve for 2023. I enjoy cooking dishes from around the world, looking for someone with similar interests.

I enjoy watching movies and TV series.

Tasks

Support staff live-in for 1 or 2 weeks at a time.

I require preparation for the day to start 8.30am

My morning routine starts at 9.00am,decided the night before, depends on days activities, time arrival for appointment, travel ect.

I require full support around, washing, dressing, hygiene, toileting, meal preparation, household tasks and support in the community.

I may need occasional support during the night.

I will require support with repositioning and moving with ceiling track hoist.

I require:

• Someone with a full clean driving licence preferably lives within 1 hour from location
• Must have use of own vehicle to and from work.
• We are looking for 12 to 16 weeks cover a year. This is negotiable subject to experience with live-in care work and other team related commitments.
• Experience of live-in care/support work on weekly basis preferred but training can be provided to the right candidate.
• Moving and handling /training experience

Further details

Self-employed PA preferred.

Gross Pay is £950.00 to £1,299.48 per week gross, depending on experience. This is based on self-employed staff that can declare to HMRC

I would prefer a minimum 10-week support but may be negotiable for right candidate.
