Job description
**Thursday 1st -Wednesday 7th June 2023**
SB is a man in his forties who lives with his mum in Twickenham. He has been diagnosed with a Learning Disability, cerebral palsy and quadriplegia of all four limbs. He also has epilepsy, reduced vision and hearing on his right side. SB uses a wheelchair to mobilise indoors and outside enabling him to move around independently; he has a ceiling hoist in his bedroom. He will require hoisting for all transfers.
SB has great verbal communication and can make simple day-to-day decisions around his food and enjoys talking about things that interest him. He enjoys going out to his local high street, listening to music, watching films and sitting in the garden. SB does not have a sense of danger and cannot be left alone.
His mood can be irregular and unpredictable at times and he can become frustrated. He can lash out at his mum, support staff and himself but can be distracted easily. He has recently been diagnosed with Psychosis and has been prescribed medication for this which has helped decrease this behaviour.
SB is unable to feed himself and finds it difficult to lift his arms; he is able to drink independently. He has been diagnosed with mild dysphagia and requires a soft diet. He needs full support to maintain his personal hygiene, to dress and to transfer to his commode.
The family are looking for a live-in support worker to work alongside his current live-in support worker. The family are unable to provide somewhere to live while the support workers are not working so candidates must have a home to go to when they are not supporting.SB is a man in his forties who lives with his mum in Twickenham.
