Job description
1st Homecare is a growing independent care provider with three home care branches and a fast growing Live-in Service based in Leighton Buzzard providing Live-in care to clients in an area which is roughly within 50 miles of Leighton Buzzard. This position is based in Oxford.
The Live-in Service has now grown to such a level that we now need a Supervisor to assist the Live-In Manager with the following tasks:
- To help source new carers – many of whom come from overseas and who will need to be checked to ensure their work permits etc are in place
- To assess new clients to establish what level of care is required and to document the care to be provided
- To liaise with client families on all care matters.
- To provide telephone support to carers and clients whenever needed
- To share the on-call service (emergency out of hours telephone support)
- To be available to provide emergency live-in care if a carer goes sick at short notice.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious and capable individual who would like to grow into the role as the service expands.
The candidate will be needed to work and help in the Oxford branch of the homecare business where he/she will also be required to help out where necessary by answering phones, helping with client reviews and carer spot checks etc.
The successful candidate will have an NVQ/QCF – at least Level 2 -and be compassionate, capable and positive in attitude and have experience in:
- The provision of care
- The assessment of care packages
- Recruitment – advertising for new staff, and the onboarding process of recruiting new staff.
- Office administration – being tidy, thorough, accurate in all matters including reconciliations and follow-up of care activity notes coming back to the office (digitally) from carers.
- Technology – Excel, Word, email etc.
A car driver is essential.
For this great role we would offer a salary of between £27,000 and £30,000. We would also provide 28 days holiday (including 8 days bank holidays, extra pay for on call duties, and pension).
