Paralegal – Remote - £25,000 to £30,000 plus bonus
About us
Tidey & Co is a law firm specialising in providing legal advice and support in sports, media and intellectual property matters. We have offices in Birmingham, London and Hong Kong. To find out more visit www.tideylaw.com.
We are a new company that was set up in 2020. Since our creation we have built relationships with several leaders in our field and have racked up significant results against top law firms. Some of our work has also been covered by the press and we are due to take on a high-profile dispute in the coming weeks. Approximately 40% of our work is international and we want to grow this.
As it stands, we handle disputes in UK, Ireland, China and to a lesser extent, the US.
Please note this job is remote however you will be required to travel to one of the offices 2 days per week for meetings and case updates.

How will you be rewarded and what else will you receive?
Note the role is offered on a self-employed basis specifically to attract individuals which match the requirements we need. We are not a greedy firm. You will receive your day rate and if you achieve your targets, you will receive a bonus. We would expect anybody working for our firm to earn their contracted rate plus at 20%.
In addition to your basic pay and bonus, we reward our staff with quarterly incentives such as holidays and dining experiences.
We are advocates training and development. This includes legal training and business training all paid for by the firm.

Who do we need?
The following attributes are essential:
· Determination
· High standards (in terms of work and personal presentation)

· Must be business minded and posses some entrepreneurial flair
· Ideally have worked in the legal sector in London or in one of the main financial districts (Singapore, New York)
What will you do on a day-to-day basis?
· Drafting documents
· Managing claims
· Instructing counsel
· Pre-action correspondence
· Filing documents with the relevant court
· Legal research
· Assisting in mediations, arbitrations and negotiations
Essential
· Must have a law degree or equivalent
· Must be commercially aware (i.e., have genuine commercial ability)
· Must have worked in a law firm or inhouse team and be looking for more independence.
