This is an important role in helping us achieve our ambition to be the World’s No.1 retailer of character clothing as you will be creating the public ‘face’ of our products.
You’ll need to have a great blend of art and science to create the perfect listings. The science comes from ensuring they are written and optimised with the right search terms and keywords so that they rank high on platforms like Amazon and Google. Having a curious mind and being comfortable working with data is therefore important.
The art then comes in crafting these insights into a great product description with Character.com personality, and which persuades the reader to become a buyer!
This is a busy role in a team of five that requires someone who's organised, has great attention to detail and has a natural drive to demonstrate how their work can have a direct commercial impact.
You’ll have great time management skills, a basic understanding of search but more importantly be able to quickly understand and work with seller platforms and listing software.
A flair for writing is a given and if you have photoshop and photography / editing skills that would be an added bonus but not absolutely essential.
Finally you’ll work closely with many areas of the business including the marketing team, trading team and merchandising and buying so you’ll need to be a confident communicator.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Listing new products for sale on platforms including Amazon and Shopify across our international markets. Our ambition is to have the best listings in the business so the role will include:
· SEO keyword research
· Competitor research and tracking
· Writing optimised titles and copy for new product descriptions
· Develop foreign language listings for our key markets using localised search terms and descriptions
· Optimising existing products to ensure we are always raising the bar
· Helping with photography of new products and updating existing products to ensure that we display the best possible images
· Keep up to date with platform requirements and share learnings and best practice with the rest of the team
· Addressing any blockages in getting the listing approved on the platforms
· Monitor listing performance to ensure they are optimised and ranking before handing over to the trading team to manage the ongoing listing performance
