The role

The University of Bristol is looking for two qualified lifeguards, to oversee our busy indoor pool.

Applicants will be experienced leisure professionals who will play a key role in creating a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and uphold the Universities values and behaviours. Roles include swimming pool supervision, cleaning of pool area, changing rooms and entrance, and covering on the welcome desk when not lifeguarding. Applicants will be customer focused, have a positive and problem solving attitude at all times and demonstrate an aptitude for teamwork.

These positions will complete the swimming pool rota ensuring a safe and effective swimming pool operation. Please mention in your application which of the roles you are looking to apply for.

Post 1 - 35 hours a week; Sunday 15:00 - 22:00 Monday 14:00 - 22:30 Tuesday 15:00 - 22:30 Wednesday 14:45 - 21:45 Thursday 15:30 - 23:00
Post 2 - 20.5 hours Working Week; Sunday 7:45 - 15:30 Monday 5:45 - 13:30 Tuesday 7:30 – 14:30
Post 3 - 13 hours Working Week; Sunday 9:00 – 15:00 Monday 15:00 – 19:00 Tuesday 17:00 – 20:00

Post 4 - 11.25 hours Working Week; Friday 7:30 – 15:00 Saturday 9:00 – 13:15

What will you be doing?

Roles include Customer supervision, Cleaning of Changing rooms and other areas, setting up and down sports equipment, and working from the Welcome Desk.

Applicants will need to demonstrate develop both teamwork and hard work in order to deliver a fantastic experience for all our students, staff and community users whilst adhering to our Health & Safety policies.

We are currently advertising for Swim Teachers and Swimming Pool Supervisors. Please confirm in your application if you would also like to be additionally considered for one of these roles.

The salary is equivalent to the hourly rate of £11.96 per hour
