Salary from £32,960 to £37,705pa inclusive with potential to progress to £40,432
pa inclusive of London allowance
The Online Services and Systems team is part of the Library’s Digital Scholarship and Innovation Group (DSIG). The Group’s purpose is to develop our digital services and explore ways in which the Library can support research, learning and teaching in new ways in a digital environment. The teams which form the Group are: Online Services & Systems; Digital Library; Metadata; Research Support Services & Publishing; Collections Management; Operations & Development
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our small and busy Online Services and Systems team.
The Library Systems Assistant is responsible for the first line support of our Library systems, ensuring the Library is able to support effective and efficient services and operations. The role will primarily focus on the library management system (Alma) and discovery system (Primo VE) as well as some interaction with integrations with other systems within the Library and across the wider School. They will provide support to team colleagues to help maintain, configure, and develop online library systems and services.
Candidates should have a wide range of IT skills and a strong willingness to learn new skills. Utilising their previously gained skills and experience, they will seek to provide a strong customer-focused approach to service delivery and support the delivery of a high-quality service. They will be also able to act independently in identifying and resolving situations and work effectively in partnership with others to provide a timely resolution of any issues. They should have excellent interpersonal, communication and strong problem-solving skills, with a determination to work collaboratively with colleagues within and beyond the library services.
