Job description
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Central Library team in a supervisory role. Bristol Libraries is a dynamic service with opening hours across all seven days of the week. The library services runs 27 libraries, and you will be responsible for be supervising a team of library assistants working at Bristol Central Library. This role is not available for job share.
We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic person, who enjoys working with the public, has excellent communication and ICT skills, and a strong commitment to customer care.
Key duties are:
- Supervising the day-to-day running of the library to ensure the highest level of customer service.
- Assist the public to gain maximum benefit from the library and its facilities.
- Respond to requests and enquiries or complaints from the public and communities as appropriate.
- Motivate the team and manage their performance to ensure delivery of Library Service objectives.
- Carry out administrative duties, including cash handling, banking, and maintaining financial and human resource records as required.
- Develop, maintain and promote library stock to ensure it meets the highest standard of quality and increase usage.
You will be required the work the following pattern:
Weeks 1 and 3: Tuesday and Thursday all day/evening, Friday all day, Sunday afternoon.
