We are looking for a proactive and self-motivated candidate to join our highly regarded library service as a Library Service Support Assistant.

The postholder will be involved in the day-to-day running of the Library, undertaking a range of administrative activities to support the access and use of library resources by students, staff and other visitors.

You will be trained to undertake a range of duties in key areas of Library operations, such as purchasing books, journals and e-resources, income reconciliation, stock management, scanning services, inter-library loans and collating and recording statistics. You will work across all functions supported by the team but will have your own specific area(s) of responsibility and act as a point of contact for colleagues across the Library.

Educated to ‘A’ level standard (or equivalent), you will have previous experience of working in an administrative role. You will need a logical approach to problem-solving and the ability to compose effective correspondence and brief reports, enter data and organise information, and work methodically and accurately, with attention to detail. A commitment to delivering a high quality, professional service, a flexible approach and the ability to work in a busy and pressurised environment are essential.
