We are looking for people to join our teams across Southampton as Saturday and evening Library assistants. These posts would suit someone looking for 6-10 hours extra work each week including Saturdays. Libraries are open to all and central to their communities so you will be meeting and supporting local residents in their information, leisure and reading needs. .Your work will be varied and rewarding. You will be instrumental in promoting libraries and a love of reading to everyone, especially to families.
You will also love helping people and be confident in assisting people with issuing and returning their items, supporting information, book and technology enquiries and keeping the library fresh and tidy and in order so people can find what they need. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and capable individual looking to contribute to a dynamic and progressive team. If you have the enthusiasm, experience and skills to undertake this role we would love to hear from you.

Additional information:
- This post requires an Basic DBS check.
- For any posts that require a DBS check, if you have lived outside the UK within the last 5 years, you will be required to provide a Certificate of Good Conduct or a police certificate from the country/countries you have resided in. Kindly note that this is at the expense of the candidate, as well as any costs involved for translating into English.
- Please note the salary quoted is based on full time hours (37 hours).
