Post Title: Library Customer Service Assistant

FTE: 1.0 fte working 37 hours per week(Part-time would be considered for this role)
Duration of Contract: Permanent
Salary: UH3 £23,700pa
Annual Leave: 25 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year
Location: College Lane Campus/De Havilland Campus Hatfield
The Library Customer Service Team provides, manages and supports University learning environments. Library Customer Service Assistants work as part of a team ensuring effective day-to-day delivery and contribute to the general work of Library and Computing Services (LCS), in particular acting as roving support, staffing service points, shelving support and assist maintaining a high-quality learning environment within departmental buildings.
Main duties and responsibilities
We are looking for an committed and efficient person with a commitment to providing a high standard of customer service. You will carry out a range of duties essential to the running of our two large Learning Resources Centre’s and day to day delivery of our facilities and services. Weekly hours 37 from 9:30 – 18:00 Monday to Friday.
Skills and experience needed
You will have experience of providing a service to customers. You will need good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work quickly and accurately and cope with the physical demands of the work including moving trolleys of books and being on your feet much of the day.
Qualifications required
You will have a minimum of GCSEs grade C/grade 4 or above in mathematics and English or equivalent, or proven professional work experience.
