Library Assistant
Pro rata of £19,871 per annum (i.e. £11,670.60)
25 hours per week
40 weeks per year (paid for 45.2 weeks)
Do you enjoy working in a busy College Library, meeting and helping students and staff and providing excellent customer service?
Our Haywards Heath campus is looking for an enthusiastic Library Assistant. You will be helping students find and use resources and assisting the College Librarian with improving and maintaining stock and facilities. You will be providing an excellent customer experience to everyone who visits the Library. Your role will be to provide a welcoming environment for our students, promoting our services, assisting students to make effective use of the library and all its resources, as well as carrying out a wide range of administrative duties.
Experience of working in a Library, IT skills, proven communication and inter-personal skills are essential. Experience of working in further education and qualifications in administration, IT or library work would be advantageous.
You will enjoy working as part of a team, but also in a solo role as the post demands. Effective communication skills, organisational skills and ability to prioritise work are paramount.
